StatingROBIN
do 4 inches wide, 6 inches tall and 6.5 inches long and that will give you 30 HZ
Nivram
its external measurements i used 3/4 wood. i built the box as big as i could and it hardley fits in my trunk will have to cut out some of my rear deck because of how big this box is.. there is no way i could go any bigger with a rectangle box. Either way the subwoofer requires two 4in x 9.5in long round ports so with 2 subs i figured 16in x 38in long but im not sure how to determine the proper slot port calculations. either way im just looking to make the most of these 2 15's Quote Walled 2002 buick century A.K.A "Betty sue" polk 5 1/2 front doors 4 3in pillar speakers DD 3518's AQ 3500 v2 90ft of 0/1 ga tuned to 40hz :build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/162721-buick-built-in-trunk-fi-sp4-hifonics-2400/
Nivram
statingrobin^ a port that small will actually give me a low tune? ive always thought the longer the port the better. the t line ports are huge!! JWBryant
Less port area= lower tuning More port area= higher tuning Longer port= lower tuning Shorter port = higher tuning Btw a 4"x6" port wont cut it. JWBryant
Also you want to make sure you have enough port area. 15-18 sq inches per foot is a good rule of thumb. Quote Basshead-in-Training
bkolfo4
haha wow....with those dimension your box has an internal air space of only 6.96 cubes not 8 lol. ^^^^this!! By the time you get the correct size slot port in that box and account for driver displacement, I bet you are around 5 cuft. Might want to look at aeros instead of a slot. Nivram
If i could have built a bigger box i would have but i cant. it just wont fit!! All i want to know is what size slot port to build and how long. i just want my 15's to sound good. my 10' type r in my 6th order box is louder than the 2 15's in my current ported box that i pvc ported. ive never had any luck with round ports. i would like to have my slot port be 16in x 4in but im not sure how long to make it. the subwoofer requires two 4in x 9.5in long round ports so with 2 subs i figured 16in x 38in long for but im not sure how to determine the proper slot port calculations. So the longer my port the deeper lower tune? t line boxes have a stupid long port Quote Walled 2002 buick century A.K.A "Betty sue" polk 5 1/2 front doors 4 3in pillar speakers DD 3518's AQ 3500 v2 90ft of 0/1 ga tuned to 40hz :build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/162721-buick-built-in-trunk-fi-sp4-hifonics-2400/
