Need help on to go ported or not

Hey,

I am building this 350Z for show. The Audio gear is relatively unknown brand, but the sub look similar to the AudioBahn AW1200Q Sub.

Now it cant be any other sub so the focus is on loudness. Since the car trunk is small and installation itself if of prime importance I have made a custom shaped enclosure that is 1.7 cuft.

I have been experimenting on some of the box designs and the scores are mentioned.

Should I do

2 subs sealed in 1.7 cuft - (Approximately - 138db on Termlabs on music 58Hz - 63Hz)

2 subs ported @ 40hz with half of the port external (Dual 4 inch Port)

1 sub sealed in 1.7 cuft - (Approximately - 130db on Termlabs on music 50Hz - 60Hz)

1 sub ported @ 40hz with port in the enclosure (Dual 2 inch port) (Approximately - 134db on Termlabs on music 58Hz - 63Hz)

1 sub ported @ 40hz with half of the port external (Dual 4 inch port)

I am trying to extract the max from one woofer before I gut the box going from 2 inch dual port to 4 inch dual port going to gain any dbs

Or Does it make sense to tune a 1.7 cuft box for two subs to 40 hz using two 4 inch port.

Please help! I am looking for suggestions from people who have worked with small ported boxes for hi output. It doesnt need to sound great. All i would need it to do is play music. I am not looking for a pure burp box.

So is 1.7 cuft box for two 12 inch subs to 40 hz using two 4 inch dia ports good or bad

Chuck the Audiobahn subs. Get 2 SA 8's, port that box. Or do a single ported 12. I own a 350z, Because of the rear strut bar. The car is a pain in the ass to build a big ported box. If you keep the 12"s I would do sealed. You could also do a ported single 10 cleanly.

1.7 cuft box for two 12 inch subs seems small. I am running 2 8's at 1.4 cuft.

And of topic, that car is gonna need about 45lbs of Dynomat (and yes that crap adds up quick when it comes to weight). I have a single low profile 10" rockford fosgate in a sealed box with onlt 200rms feeding it and everything rattles.

The car is a pain in a** but with a hatchback go ported dynomat is good but for floor surfaces you can get away with B-Queit for roof dynomat
