TeamHT
No money for a good alternator, but money for a big battery? Depending on the battery, it might just be the better option to get the alternator. Unless you also want to get a charger and charge the battery nearly all night. ChevyBoy95
big batteries cost as much as a new alt. I remember when i had voltage issues, it took me 3 months to bite the bullet and buy a HO 200amp. lets just say i can run full tilt not dipping below 13.9v at idle, charging is at 14.2v. and that's on about 3400rms total (bass amp and mids/highs). a few of these alt companies can make custom stuff if you need it. edit: took branding out, dont want to sway a decision between mech, dc power, singer, etc. Edited January 21, 2012 by ChevyBoy95 Quote Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/

crunkjuice1
if DC is cheaper than mechman just do it. and please pay attention to your cars idle speed because you might end up with a paper weight. Depending on your cars idle will effect the alts turn on speed. Someone else kinda learned this the hard way.
ChevyBoy95
these are the brands people on the forum usually use, and are all proven. DC Power Mechman Singer Ohio Excessive can't remember any others. monkeyleg
If your voltage loss is so bad and you don't want to ruin anything...why don't you turn it down? And a good battery is always a plus. Don't buy a no name alt brand. Learned that the hard way. Quote Google it
