First Competition Today

Well today i went to my first competition, i have a 1993 firebird formula v8, two skar audio vvx 12's on a dc3.5k at 2 ohm with a stock batt and a 185 amp alt, prefab box. I had never metered the car up until now. I did one test run on juicebox and we figured i was good to bassrace 129.9, 1st run i tied with this guy 129.9, then on the tie breaker he jumped the start so it disqualified him, that ended up me being in the finals and i lost to this other guys 129.8 to my 129.7 after the event was over i got up on the meter just for some test and tune, first song i chose off the bat i hit a 142.2 at 49hz drivers door open, 140.2 sealed up. none the less im happy with the numbers ive got out of this setup. What do you all think?

Thanks cody, i thought i was gonna see you up there, the 1st pass was fun no one believed it, two rookies bass racing a perfect score and a tie at the same time haha. Im hoping to get a 42 or 43 out of it sealed up and bass race 39.9 after i get a new box in and some more time on a termlab, you think it can be done without adding amp power?

Damn i hope so, on a fresh charge my car stays in the low 13s full tilt but after demoing for a while i have to keep my rpm up to stay in the 12s lol, im sure at the next event ill put up some better numbers, i got 2nd place and the guy that beat me gave me his 1st place trophy out of kindness, a lot of people in this car audio community are really nice man, theyll help out anyone, even a rookie like me.

thanks man! there were only 6 cars in my class but whatever haha, i'm learning, gonna trying to bassrace 39.9 at the next comp O_O

Still a second place mate, don´t let anyone think that is less important than a second place against 20 cars!!!

139.9 class is fun, way more difficult since there´s tons of cars on that class, over here, we have around 12 cars on 129.9 , 35 cars on 139.9 and 10 cars on 149.9 classes, so yeah, the 139.9 class is the most crowded on almost any country, good luck and have fun

Just had my first comp yesterday. I came in third out of eight with a DC level 4 12", DC Audio 1.2k, stock alt, yellow top and a XS D3400 in the back. I hit a 137.0 sealed at 48hz. I was so stoked! Haha

Haha yeah ive seen that class has more experienced bass racers too. I gotta build a new box before attempting that though. I did a 140.2 sealed and from what ive been told I need about a 42 or 43 to bassrace 39.9 with a little wiggle room
