with those amp terminals, you are only supposed to use bare wire with them, no connectors.

you havent answered this though, but what are the settings on the headunit like? is bass boost on? whats the eq set to? volume you used when they blew?

Why is everybody looking at the amp?

my first thought is that he wired the coils to a dead short probably trying to series them. no matter how the amp wires look in that situation the woofers will smoke as soon as you try and do anything with them unless the amp pops into dead short protect first.

By getting the wires screwed up in some way, not double checking or fully understanding how the wires should be ran, then connecting them to the amp and supplying power.

The suns are connected correctly. Bass on the head is at about 5% and I'm using my stock head unit at half volume. I'm going to fix all the issues that have been pointed out so far.. does it look like I need larger amp to speaker wire?

I'm running the speakers as we speak with no issues. I replaced the fuse with a 25, fixed the ground and have the amp at 65hz. I still haven't tuned the gain because idk how to without an O-scope or with one for that matter.

I was only running one sub the whole time!! I can't beleave it. I got the box with the subs in it used from a local "sketchy " mod shop and he told me they were connected and running at 2 ohms but just for gits and shiggles I pulled them and only one sub was hooked. Please help. Tell me I can connect them in parallel somehow and run them both on the infinity 1600 amp I have and if you could tell me how I would be in your debt.

we would need to know the ohms of the coils on the sub. d2 or d4. sorry for not helping earlier, had to make the bread. let me make a list for you:

1.) sand down ground to bare metal and upgrade to 4 guage wire

2.) check all head unit settings. make sure the bass boost is 0 and the eq is flat.

3.) wire the subwoofers correctly. (people will help you)

4.) have everyone walk you through setting the gains

i know you have probably done some of this already, but with all of the above mentioned, you should be up to par with your connections.

They are 4 ohm I beleave, there is two sets of pos neg terminals per sub and it says 4 ohm above each set. In case you didn't see they are pioneer champ 12s and my amp is a mono class D. Ill post pics of the terminals Incase I'm not explaining correctly. And thank you for helping.
