Kdub26 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Share Posted February 1, 2012 my original idea was to go with an 18" FI SSD, and keep my power acoustik amp. my new idea is to go with a Audioque HDC318 and power it with a AQ1200D. my theory is this: the AQ amp says its stable down to 1ohm. i noticed two speaker inputs on the amp. so, my idea was to go with a dual1 with the sub, and wire each coil into each speaker terminal. OR....should i get a dual2, wire it down to 1ohm, and use only one of the speaker terminals? keeping in mind that budget is a factor, tax return money will free up some, but this is why i picked these combo's. trying to get rid of the cheapy stuff. ChevyBoy95 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Share Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) like said, it has 2 sets of 8 ga inputs so if there is multiple subs on 1 amp, you are not jamming 2 wires into a single input (ease of wiring). with 1 sub just use 1 pos and 1 neg and you will be fine. mlstrass Posted February 1, 2012 Report Share Posted February 1, 2012 assuming you have some electrical to support the amp at .5ohm it would actually push the HDC a little better. Next question: how you fitting an 18 in the trunk of a Camry? I have an 18" HDC in the trunk of my Altima but it took some metal cutting/work to make it fit...
