Tint Noob =( Help

Ughhhhhh

I bought some window tint at walmart (yeah I know bad move to begin with) well I started out couldn't get the adhesive layer off, finally got it off after I crinkled the tint (noiiiiice on my part). Then I got it pretty well on there (even tho I fucked up I was gonna practice using that piece of tint) it didn't look to bad but still I did a HORRRRIBBLEEEEE job.

I need some tips on how to do it correctly.

First question.

How do I get it down in the cracks where the window rolls down without it wanting to roll back up when I crack the window to do the top parts, and vice versa how do I do it so when I roll it up to do the bottom and it doesnt push it down?

Second question.

No matter how hard I squeegeed it still had like I dk, little bubbles, and they wouldn't dissappear as if I had dirt under the tint, but I washed the FUCK out of the windows. Should I take a razor blade to the windows to make sure there is not shit that washing left behind?

Third question.

How do I keep the tint from crinkling when I'm trying to line it up? The shit just wants to roll back up and i end up mashing it.

Any other tips would be EXTEREMLY helpful.

I'll be re attempting tinting on saturday. I'm returning the unused portion to walmart (I love walmart you can return ANYTHING)

What is some good tint thats not really exspensive? Is the walmart tint ok? I bought the "Best" they had.

First problem WALMART. and then when you tint start at the top and then work down with the tint. and when squeegeing start in the middle and and work your way to the sides. and that should help. any other ?s just ask.

Where should I buy tint? The tint didn't seem TOO bad, it was thick and pretty much unscratchable with my fingernail.

I've been holding off on tinting till after I quit smoking, and I finally quit smoking (but I'm back to dipping ) so now I can tint without worrying about burning my tint.

aint there anywhere round where you live that has pros do it? where you live? and walmart tint maybe thick and looks ok but after a little while it starts to turn purple and when you see cars that have puple windows....that is the cheap ass walmart tint.

Tinting is best done inside a shop or garage. Any dust, dirt, lint, or trash floating in the air has a chance of getting into your tint. Clean your car thoroughly inside and out. If the floor is dirty wet it with a spray bottle to keep dust from being kicked up into the air. Wet the outside of your window and lay your tint on the outside to trim it to size. After its cut to size wet the inside, peel off your backing, and slide it into place. Squeegee from the center out starting at the top and working your way to the bottom removing all the bubbles as you go. Don't use an antigrease type of soap like Dawn. The cleaners in it can attack the adhesive. Joy is what we use at work.

do the top part first, use a card to push the tint down into the window gasket. Its kind of hard to explain if you dont know what Im talking about

yes, use a razor blade on the window first. then squegge the bare window before you put the tint down

you are not going to find any good tint thats not expensive. If you are really wanting to do this then you can do to the shop and by film from them but they are going to prolly rape you for the price. It would be alot cheaper and easier in the long run to just have a shop do it if you plan on only tinting this one car. You can PM if you have any more questions.

Don't be afraid to use lots and lots of water, soak the life out of the windows and tint before you start, it helps keep it from rolling up as much. I purchased some tint from Walmart and it wasn't that bad at all, it turned out very professional. I tinted my windows way back in the day though so I'm not sure if the quality is the same, should be better these days but you never know.

x2 all the little bubbles are from the glue....it is the tint adhearing is all it is...no worrys they will be gone in a couple a days

Thanks guys, all your feedback is GREATLY appreciated, Im gonna give the walmart tint another shot I think, because its cheap, and I doubt i'll own this vehicle for more than another year (2 at the most)

I'm really glad that you guys told me the little bubbles will dissapear because I could see myself doing it again and getting pissed at the little bubbles and ripping it back off LOL

I'll post pics of the side windows when I do them this weekend, I'm gonna go 20% because I don't want the fuzz riding my ass about it. My parents are getting me 5% for the rear window for christmas so I'll post those pics up after xmas.
