6.5" component suggestions for my 07 Hoe

So the stock Bose system in my Tahoe can't hang with the 18", and with the second 18" going in soon looks like I gotta start looking for upgrades

My 4 channel amp will be either the RF T800.4AD or the T1000.4AD

Let's put the budget at say $250 per set? Not looking for straight SQ but I want them to be able to keep up an play clean and loud

Only sets I've really looked at was the RF T2 sets, but I'm open to suggestions

Thanks for any help guys

I like the POLK MM 6501. They are 2.7 ohms which stop a lot of people but since impedance doesn't matter in your case I'd go with them. and also they are rated for 125rms. I am running 160rms to them off a DD c2c right now and I play all day full tilt (unclipped or distorted) no problems!

  • 2 months later...

Figured I'd bump this thread instead of making a new one.

Now that I'm running two 18"s the stock Bose system gets completely drowned out.

I'm 95% set on using the RF T800.4AD for the 4 channel.

Looking for 6.5" components, or components/convertible coax.

At least 100 wrms

Budget at $250 a set.

From researching/lurking car audio forums, this is what I would do:

http://www.wooferset...-amplifier.aspx

http://www.wooferset...ss-drivers.aspx

http://www.wooferset...eters-pair.aspx

Although you can't go wrong with RF Power Series either.

http://www.wooferset...ent-system.aspx

I hear these are pretty good too:

I'm thinking I'll be doing a 2-way active setup using the sundown SAX100.4

Any suggestions on 6.5" mids that will take 80+rms and some tweets?
