I can fit a 150% increase in cone area (bigger box, and in turn bugger subs) if I do subs up port up. Is it really that good? Or is it just a marginal increase? My suburban was loudest on the meter with subs and port rearward. . .and not far off with sub rearward and port to the side. . .you never know what is loudest until you try it. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

I guess there is no substitute for experimentation. In terms of a quick check to make sure I didn't miss anything: How would this box look (2 sp4 18s)?
