sayhuh? Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 All has changed. Started the update on page 4. I think this box should be ok. Def. strong enough by the time I'm done. =) A while back, I posted about my house being built and audio on the back burner. Welp, now that is out of the way, let the games begin...no really, I'm kinda a noob. Box is 39x20x19 and will be tuned around 32hz...unless someone thinks it should be different. 05 VW GTI -FI BTL 18 Fully Loaded PB XA-3000d PB XA-485 PB 3XL-60c up front MB Quart 6.5 Comps in the rear 3 runs of 1/0 gauge for power (KNU) 2 runs 1/0 for ground (KNU) all RCAs Knu JVC KD-A525 and having one hell of a time putting it in. I love VW, but WTF is up with this damn huge plug and no space??? To come: XS Power d3400 Mike Singer Alt Some toolmaker goodies and other Misc needs. I wanted a truck, but love me some VWs, so I went with this Wife came home and saw this So she pulls up a chair to watch... A little Spectrum? Yes please. I must say, I'm pretty happy with it. Wish I could have done more deadener, but this will do for now. I may undercoat too. While waiting for each coat to dry, I started on the box Had to see what the sub would look like in there Blown
sayhuh? Posted February 3, 2012 Author Report Posted February 3, 2012 Since the Spectrum dried, I ran some wire Ordered some speaker spacers from Crutchfield..yea they didn't fit 6.5s, so I made some rings...had to make it work. The rears were easier Bass knob from PAC Its going right above the radio where the little plastic piece is missing. And this is about where I am at..lots to do Here's the subs and amps (granted I am only do one sub and one amp for obvious space reasons lol) More to come. Blown
sayhuh? Posted February 4, 2012 Author Report Posted February 4, 2012 Test fit the box Trying to figure out how to do the amps... Also, what to cover the box in? Someone on CACO is selling that rubberized second skin coating they never actually came out with. Any ideas? Just not carpet. Thx Blown

Migz Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 How did you run your power cable through the car? My girlfriend has a gti too and it was a nightmare to run 4awg through, some of the trim panels needed a good push just to stay down. So i need to find out how to run 0awg as that's what i want to put in mine when/if i get one.
sayhuh? Posted February 5, 2012 Author Report Posted February 5, 2012 Thanks! Still a lot of work left on the box. Over all, I'm happy with the way it looks so far. Hobby, still have that fuse holder set up? Where did you get yours? Also, a noob question, but with one battery, and three runs of power, do I need more than one fuse per run? Or is the one (per run) under the hood fine? Blown
