i dont know if you mentioned how many runs of wire you have but you could always add a couple more runs of 1/0, if you have to get different brackets for a bigger alt you might as well go with an ultra sweet dual alt setup, it seems you already have some batts so i dont know what else to tell you

I currently have two runs of 1/0 ga. wire going from thr front to back.
