what does that have to do with this thread or my vids? I am well aware of the limits of the equipment I am using... that being said - the SAZ3500 is fine at 0.5 backed by a few XS power bats, and the OA18's have no problem handling the power.. we had them getting warm for a bit on clipping but took care of that once we had the gains set with the SMD DD-1

but feel free to carry on with your rambling

but as a representative of both oa and sundown. is this really a good idea to do and post every where with the kids that have a hard on for sundown amps and oa subs as with their price point of the 18s soon as they hit kids will be hard on to get them be like ooo well i got a 18s i can do bla bla bla bla. and taking this subs and running them on 2000 watts with out knowing what they are doing in the least. or running a amp at .5 and not having half the electrical needed to running it. i see u can do it properly just fine but i have a feeling u have done this for a while as if im not mistaken u r on team sundown. but what about all these people that dont know and that see your vids and just go do it and roast the sub and amp.

The only thing they need to understand is that a warranty is literally a WARRANTY against defects in the product when used as rated... it is not INSURANCE against the product never breaking for any reason. That is what we as manufacturers, distributors, and dealers "complain" about -- the simple fact that many people don't understand the difference. You can buy a new Mercedes and drive it at 185 MPH and they sure do advertise that top speed everywhere -- but it's not under warranty if you crash into a tree, is it ? Same thing.

Of course... both OA and Sundown offer very affordable re-cone kits for those that choose to push the limits... and at Sundown we offer great rates for amp replacements even if they are ran outside of rated specifications even AFTER the 2-year warranty period (little know part of our warranty... but it's on our web-site).

PS : Cool videos Greg :)

well aren't you the most jaded and responcible 19 year old on this planet :D

...this is why we have these prototypes and go through the trouble of testing the limits...so that when the kids ask, we can tell them what they can get away with and on what conditions. this also serves for information purposes in general - about properly setting up your system, actually understanding how this stuff works..the electrical requirements, proper tuning, box recomendations etc.... you don't just go about this stuff based on the numbers written on the package - what fun would that be?

nice, what size box do you have them in

it's slightly over 10cubes net, 3 6" aeroports, tuned to 29Hz .... we're gonna make the box a bit smaller later on, this one feels a little on the big side at this power level

Moscow has a great night-life if you are semi-good looking and willing to spend some bucks..... or you can be an ugly fat-ass bastard, but a Porsche/Benz/Bently, and about 5k will get you even more lolz.... do come to Russia if you have a chance

the roof flex is horrible in person.... the subs however sound great (we took the time to listen to some tracks with someone holding the roof down) - very musical and get down low

thanks!
