Joe X
Are these you EXTERNAL dimensions?? 54W 21.5D 17.5H If so here is a design suggestion for a box with a center divider and tuned to 36 Hz, sub displacement is assumed to be 0.23 cuft (same layout as yours): Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 36,067 Hz Vb = 3,406 ft^3 (per chamber) Subwoofer Mounting = Front Mounted External Height = 17,5 in External Width = 54 in External Depth = 21,5 in Port Width = 3 1/8 in (one port per chamber) Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front & Back = 54 x 17 1/2 Left & Right Sides + Center Divider (3 parts) = 20 x 16 Top & Bottom = 54 x 20 L Ports Internal Assembly Parts (2 of each) : Front to Back = 16 7/8 x 16 Extension = 1 1/2 x 16 Edited February 7, 2012 by Joe X
bumpinTL364
you could leave it as it was (without the splitter) but you would either have to move those back port walls back 5" so that you would have 5" from each side coming into 10" total (I think this would screw up your tuning though, and make the port way too small) OR the OTHER THING you would have to do would be double the center port to 20" wide (this should keep your tuning consistent. adding room for a splitter isn't necessary, just depends on preference) Edited February 7, 2012 by bumpinTL364 Quote masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say itsorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended) LOLDON'T get a wife. pa-pa-platypus
sub up/ port up is what i could do for that vehicle.. and shrink your port down 7 inches and go from there.. (my computers being dumb at the moment or id post a torres screen shot) your port would be 16x7 as an L shaped port on the drivers side of the box ported ^ ive seen alot of people have success in that truck like that Quote This isn't teeball. jeffrm
The external dimensions used to be 57long x 25deep x 17.5tall . That would be as wide and deep as I could go but I had to shink the box that much to get internal cubes to work. I would actually like for it to be this big again. But that would be just over 12 cubes. Would this be possible to do with me needing 3 cubes per sub?oh and I forgot to mention that this box is for show and go, not competition. But if it could do good on the meter then thats good too. jeffrm
ok this is what i come up with, port is 5in off back wall, shrunk the extention parts down 5in to compensate for the extra i had to go back. port is 16.75in long with 7in extentions off each side. comes out to be 2.68 cubes after displacement of subs.
