AMI CUSTOMS Posted January 30, 2013 Author Report Posted January 30, 2013 Big plans coming been working on the truck little here and there, not much to update but got my brakes upgraded after doing countless nights of research on the most cost effective way. Turned out perfect. Swapping ALL of my amps out, making a trip to SQ headquarters next month to pick up everything, HDC4s, amps, and get a nice tour. Been working on other builds so mine was put on back burner. But center console and doors are gonna rock, I just need to order Dakota digital gauges for center console and I can start on it in a few weeks. Plus shaving the door handles to, inside and out. So much shit is on the list lol..... Pics up when I get to a computer. AMI CUSTOMS Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 Update 2/12/13 Brake Conversion - 06 GMC Sierra -> 01 GMC Sierra After much research I found out you can swap over all the components off an 06 on to 01 and it is a pretty big upgrade and if you get upgraded parts on top of that it is another upgrade. After contemplating the AP big brake kit, I decided to save some big money and go the brake conversion route. Rotor and pads I got for cheap off rock auto - Power Stop Test fitting the rotor, new caliper and pads, you can't believe everything off the net, but this time they were right. Comparison of PowerStop 06' rotor vs Stock 01' rotor Had to paint the calipers YELLOW Installed with StopTech braided stainless steel lines Wheel on, looks good Looks great!!!! Review after compared to stock - Truck actually stops and pedal feels alot firmer. I can make the truck rock front to back coming to a sudden stop now, couldn't do that before, so I am very happy for having under $400 in the whole conversion and such a huge improvement.
