I have wrapped a few pieces on my car with the 3m scotch print vinyl wrap. It is pretty easy to work with. You can see the pieces I wrapped in the build log of my signature.

On the oxidation you should be ok as long as it isn't flaking off. If it is I would lightly sand it and clean it very well.

Know what else looks like sick paint jobs?

Sick paint jobs. Never seen one here in Alaska, and honestly, I think its retarded. Unless you're a group of four Brazilian women who rob banks and need to change the color of your BMW in a matter of seconds, why bother?

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Good vinyl isn't cheap. However it is cheaper then a complete paint job done the right way. Also there are some people that do not keep their car for very long and it is a great way to modify a car and then when your ready to sell it put it back to stock without damaging any of the paint.

This was my intention. I don't drive it as often.

Not that much cheaper to make it worthwhile. And if you don't plan on keeping a vehicle, what would be the point in doing anything to it.

I love car audio so much because I will never be done. I can never win, and I will never get it finished or perfect. It always has me coming back for more, I can never get my fill of it, but I get what I need.
