I kinda got an idea but for the port, how do u find out the total length? I'm wanting the port inbetween the subs, but the port has to be 30" long, but my depth is only 14. I thought that when the port hits the back of the box, split it into to so there's a portbopening for each sub. Question on is how do I figure the length of the port, and also, if I do it this way, will each sub be in its own chamber or will it still b one big one? The port doesn't go from top of the box to the bottom, so they aren't completely sealed off. Also, will this cause the subs to b loaded on and add a lot of box rise? Bring on the Rockfords!!
Noobtastic14 Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Well, it sounds like you are making this way more complicated than it has to be. Either way it is MUCH easier to extend your slot port from the bottom to the top because not only will it be way easier to build the port walls will also act like bracing for your top and bottom pieces. I suggest either doing a nice slot port on the side or center port with a "T" shape at the back of the box to achieve your finishing length. -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. 71fordranger Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 Max is 41X14X16 and he is using 2 of the new Rockford P3D4-12's. He's wanting about 33 htz ish, he wants it as loud and hit as low ass possible, SQ isn't a huge thing, more towards SQL leaning more to the hard hitting side. He listens to chopped and screwed stuff and tech n9ne just to give an idea. Bring on the Rockfords!!

External Enclosure Parts: Front = 37 x 12 1/2 Front Internal = 35 1/2 x 12 1/2 Back = 41 x 12 1/2 Left & Right Sides: Side 1 = 14 1/2 x 12 1/2 Side 2 = 15 1/4 x 12 1/2 Top & Bottom = 41 x 16 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 11 1/4 x 12 1/2 Extension = 5 x 12 1/2 For a 33Hz tune the port changes as follows: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 33.008 Hz Vb = 3.054 ft^3 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 11 1/4 x 12 1/2 Extension = 10 x 12 1/2 But beware that your net internal drops further Assembly guide: Any questions let me know.
