Joshue Vincent Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Thanks. I have a sub Cerwin Vega Stroker STKR124. I was thinking to by a BRZ1200 to run that sub. I hear that BRZ amp series are powerful and rate for full RMS. This amp will be enough for the STKR 124 or do you suggest any other amp.
Watch the bass Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Idk the Cervin Vega sub, but if he is higher rated than your amp, you have to build a bigger box than recommanded threw his powerrating. I've a Cadence XaH1200 amp but i don't feel it's giving the STKR a full RMS. I have the Big 3 connection and 2 kinetiks 1400 batt. What amp do u recommend for this sub?
JPagan Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 You are right about the cadence not giving it rms power because you have dual 4ohm coils. With dual 4ohm coils you can wire to 2ohm so you want a amp that does around 1000-1200 watts at 2ohm. For something affordable I would look into the alpine mrx 1000 or kicker zx 1000, both will do 1000 watts at 2ohms. For a little more money you could look into a rockford fosgate T1000-bdcp which should do around 1500@2ohm from what ive seen on the birth sheets.
