I don't feel like reading through all of it, but honestly OP you are going to have a hard time finding one 18" high power handling driver that likes to be in 4th orders. I mean you could put any one of those drivers in one and probably be pretty loud but you still might not be able to dish out all that power to it. If your hell bent on a BP, then I would come down considerably on power (remember BPs are incredibly more efficient, so you prolly don't need 10k) and then pick up a lower line 18" that performs well in BP enclosures (any 18" that likes sealed enclosures is a good start). Otherwise, you've got tons of power. Why not forward fire two beefy 15"s in a ported box and unleash all the power you can. And if your seats don't fold down it would actually be easier to convert them to fold down than all the work to 'maybe' build a 4th order that performs well. All I do is stuff big things in small places, I'm very familiar BPs and they can be a very difficult thing to build if you don't have mad woodworking skills. The 4th order will most likely have to be built inside the trunk, which is a challenge for most. That's my .02 though.

EDIT: I see you've come off your 18" plans. Good choice, and Ray is very good with BPs. He'll help you out proper.

It's all gone!

i havnt completly i will probably start with 1 18 first, then go to 2 12s both experimenting with rays designs of a 6th order

i know bps are more efficent, i have 10, im gonna use it i ran a sd 8k to one dc lvl 5 daily, have been, im not scared!

ive also been there done that with 2 12s in a ported box, 2 15s ported box, 1 18 ported box, im cool on that, bp is deffently the best option with my trunk, my seats dont fold down never will, there is a massive hump to get over i think ur very unfamiliar with the trunk layout, and i want to be able to seat 6 and demo, port up threw back deck is probably where its going, box will drop right in, i could go much bigger but i also want the option of having my spare tire in, espically if im gonna go meter this every once in a while

but with the second chamber porting being shorter, the port will could be a 10 inch pipe, 10 inches long ish so that would be interesting to squeeze up threw the back deck, so i might do a 7x10 or something more like that just so it fits in the 7x 22 hole i have

the other problem is with the tuning in the bottom chamber so low the ports would need to be long like 25 inches + where my box only 25 tall, so thats also something to consider, i only have the back wall to do ports on because the front will be all plexiglass, so i was looking into 2 6" pipes for the bottom 20 ish inches long and then the 10" pipe like i said before on the top chamber, i can probably find 6 inch clear plexi would be sick!

on the other side of things ive been talking to rusty about a neo, hmmmm sooooo sexy and so much neo

but it does cost a ton, 2 n2s is looking pretty prime in a 6th order because ray is the man, i dont mind reconing at and i know i will have to running that much power!

but right now i think im gonna recone it to an 18 to experiment with the box, then ill give it 10k, then deside if i wanna go 2 a big dc neo, or 2 n2 12s

and ray when i bump this tommarow and you see it you should send me ur paypal.... or pm me? i want some quotes on tweeters

Don't forget it's really easy to blow a woofer when using a 4th order, beacuse you can't really hear if things go wrong.

Blew a woofer yesterday by testing different subs in a 4th order, It took about 15 seconds.

But if ray designs a 4th order bandpass for you, he will probably tell you how much power you can apply, and anything over that is your own choice.

Thinking is the root of all problems...

You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

This is why I want rays advice!

He will design me a bandpass that works from there is up to me to make if work with 5k

and then from there ill see how it works with 10k

I've had subs in badpass's given then double and triple rms, and they are still alive to this day....

im sure ill be fine with a n2 on 10k :peepwall:

Bump for ray :)

its even easier to blow a sub in a 6th order. dont ever play out of your passband or instant *poof*
