97SSBlazer
I had a few questions about sealing off the box when you fire foward in a car. I turned my box around to fire it in and its MUCH better, Not as low but way louder over all. My question is , If I open my trunk its WAY louder but at the moment its no sealed around the box. When its actaully sealed would be similar to when the trunk is open now? Doesn blow foam work well to seal it up? Thanks Quote lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz. -= 2005 Tahoe LT =-Head unit: Pioneer AVH-X5500BHSSource: iPad Mini in dash Subs: 2 T1 12's Sub Amp: T1500-1bdCPWire: Rockford Fosgate 1/0 awgSignal Cable: MonsterFronts:Stock Bose for now:)Rears: Stock Bose for now:)MIds/High amp: Stock Bose for now:) 2005 Tahoe Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/172529-2005-tahoe-my-17th-vehicle/ 2001 Monte Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/160030-2001-monte-carlo-my-16th-car-lol/page-2#entry25309381997 Tahoe Build Log: http://www.stevemead...oe-6-15-rf-15s/2001 Impala Build Log: http://www.stevemead...katzkin-inside/
BEEMDUB
I've seen alotta people use the expanding foam to seal it..looks kinda messy and shitty unless you have it covered up but it works pretty well I've heard

97SSBlazer
Well the crazy thing is if I open the trunk it's get the lows back and goes from 145 sealed to 148 sealed with trunk open. If I roll down the windows it goes from a 147 to 149 with the trunk open. My question is if I seal it off will I still have that kinda of sound and output as I do now with the trunk open? n8ball2013
if you want to test it out go to lowes or home depot and get the air conditioning weather stripping seal stuff. Stuff it into the gaps around your box. its one of hte easiest ways to seal off and although not permanent its pretty durable. Well I guess I should say as long as you don't have any large gaps my box is like 1 inch at most from all three sides. stroupe79
use cardboard to make templates to cut mdf to cover all your gaps..its a pretty easy to do...i had 2 15s sealed forward in a 94cavalier hitting 148.4 sealed on the dash..this was with 2 kicker comp 15s and a PPI 2350 back in 1998..that was hella loud for 1998 in the trunk.. i think you would get the sound your looking for by sealing it entirely from the trunk Quote http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
