Hi guys! I've been around these forums for a while but just recently decided to make an account and start posting. I've been into both music and cars since I could walk so it was only natural that as soon as I could drive the two would come together! This is just an amateur trunk build and is a constant work in progress. It's been done for a while but I figured I would start a build thread and keep track of everything. Maybe one day when I really know what I'm doing I can look back on this and laugh  I'm only 17 so funds are real limited but trying to make the best of what I've got! Please feel free to critique, I would love to get some real opinions and learn from people who are more experienced than I am I'm all about improvement. Thanks!!

1998 Nissan Altima GXE (bought it with 171k and still running strong :D)

H/U: Kenwood KDC-HD545U

Doors + Rear Deck: 4 x Kenwood KFC-1662S coaxials

Sub Amp: Hifonics BRZ-1700.1D

Sub Stage: 2 x Skar VVX-12 tuned to 33hz

Next in line is a new alt + batteries or a new car, whichever comes first. I won't be doing any mods to this car since it's just too beat up but we'll see!

Subs arrived.. A whole lot beefier than the old Infinity 10's I had!

Testing the fit of the box.. Got real lucky here!

Everything finished and wired up! (I want to move that amp soon though.. Hate the look of amps mounted on the enclosure)

We need some videos!

Is that a prefab?

I'll try and get some videos ASAP. I was really impressed with the Skars.

and nope, not a prefab, if I've learned anything from my time here it's that prefabs are an abomination! I had that box built by Skar as part of their combo deal. Around ~3.5 cubes net tuned to 33hz.

Yeah, prefabs are junk, but nice start, bet it sounds epic :D

Sure do! They fold down 60/40 so when I go out for a long drive I put them down and it really slams.

Just need to get the wiring tucked away properly and I think it'll look a lot better. Inside the cabin it's clean but I think I'm gonna try to see what I can do with some zip ties and electrical tape.

Thank you for all the support!! I appreciate it!

question...

if you "hate" the look of the amp on box.... uhhh... why did you put it there?? bc generaly when somebody says to themselves.. i dont like that look..they place it differently..

and the vibration screws amps up fast if u got box flex n such...

mount that amp on the backseat if you can or right behind the box on the floor of trunk..

a side note..looks like you got a VERY nice start on the audio.. skar subs are nice..

do your big 3 upgrade and a battery and ull be set!!

Thanks for the kind words! I guess I might have worded it wrong, it's not so much the look of the box with the amp mounted but the problem that you mentioned with the vibration and box flex. At the time I really wanted to just get everything done so unfortunately I wasn't really thinking about that when I decided to mount the amp on top. Oh well, live and learn :P it'll be moved to a spot on the floor soon. My trunk carpet has an annoying habit of sliding around so everything's getting secured down soon!
