System wired to stock radio

I've never hooked up a system to a stock radio before but I know I need a line out conveter. My question here is what settings, if any, do I need to change on the stock radio for the amp. The only options I have are the usual treble, bass and mids plus the fade and such. I figure I should I leave all those settings alone but want to make sure since I've never gone this route.

I dont recommend useing line out converters they are VERY dirty and will sound like crap, buy a new deck.. However if you insist i would hook it to the rear speakers and fade it to the rear slightly and if the converter is adjustable keep it low dont crank it up or it will be even worse sounding.. but like i said youd be better off getting a cheap 100 dollar headunit if you dont have a bunch to spend

X2 Get an aftermarket deck you will be much more happy in the long run trust me!

an aftermarket deck will most likely clean up how your stock speakers sound too unless you have bose or something stock..

if money will fund ied pick up a deck so u get more power to your speakers so they will keep up with bass, depending on how much power your trying to run

how much power are u going to run with it? big be better with a deck due to some of em pick up feedback from speakers, like one i did when u would shut the door it would resonate the speaker and humming would sound

I plan on running just 1200-1500w, still haven't decided on an amp. I plan to get a double din in the future but the wiring harness for my car is expensive not to mention the steering wheel control adapter as well. Plus, I have the DIC (driver info center) built into the stock radio and I believe if I don't mount that elsewhere it will cancel my warranty, and the harness for that is $175 as well..So altogether it'd be around $700 after all is said and done, half of that cost being just harnesses which is crazy.

oh, ya all this automated stuff for new cars headunits is weird, if it was me ied make a separate box for all the extra stuff and link it to the headunit from that and what knot

so i guess loc's will be ur only bet unless u want to spend the money to have all that stuff intergrated lol, if your speakers are "bi-amped" then i dunno exactly how u would tap into them if u wanted to power your mids n highs, by "bi-amped" i mean seperate amps for tweets n mids, some cars has this

I guess I'll have to look into everything before I order the subs and amp. Any specific LOC brands to look into?
