so this guy is able to get his hands on a T1 12 and he wants to put it in a trunk facing the back sealed up

i tell him its dumb cause he has plenty of room for a ported boxand if he fires it into the cabin itll be alot louder

now he says with a ported box u can "hear" it better but with a sealed box u can "feel" it better

once again i tell him he is dumb and the only thing sealed is good for is more power handling and possibly better SQ

am i correct in saying he should port the box and seal it off from the trunk instead of sealed and facing the back of the trunk?

i have always preferred the sound from a sealed box in trunk cars but in this case remember the customer is always right

thats just the thing it aint a customer its one of my friends and he's been strivin to get sumthin real nice but he isn't the brightest when it comes to this stuff

im just tryin to tell him how to get somethin he's been wantin for awhile

well its all up to personal tastes really. BUT if he has not ever had either and hes just going with what people say and what hes heard, try and show him the difference if you can.

exactly. people say my system is tiny wheni tell them i have 95 watts going to each 12. but when tehy hear it they change their minds. if you know the pros and cons let him know and if you can show him do it

im competing with this one kid who has 2 RF HX2 12's in a sealed box on a sony 1100 watt amp

that one and mine are the only ones he has ever heard.

but am i right in saying u can feel more from ported than u can from sealed or is it the same?

depends on the car and subs. my 12's feel and sound better in a sealed box

ive noticed when i build seald boxes for people and they want the sub faceing the rear of the car, the bass is more in the cabin of the car, and you can hear the bass infront of the car, if the subs face the front then the bass doesnt see as strong or loud to me, and i cant hear the bass as much as if they were turned the other way......but every setup is different
