Jared420
This is not a what's should I do what's better vs thread. I have been searching the forum and I haven't found anything on is there a difference in sound quality between an all wood box or a wood/fiberglass box or even all fiberglass. I will be attempting a wood and glass box for my spring/summer build but I haven't found anything on the sound quality of fiberglass. Any input? I'm guessing the thicker more dense you make the glass part the better. Just wondering if I will be sacrificing any sq. box will be sealed and depending on how much airspace I can get from it I may do a little poly fill experimenting. Skullz
Fill will reduce standing waves and reflections inside the box creating a deeper richer sound from the enclosure acting as if it is acoustically dead, you don't want to add more than 1lb per cf of box space. RooTxBeeR
I don't know the differences of the two, But I do know that Birch is the most accousticaly resonate wood, and is best used to build boxes with. Compared to other woods. Jared420
Yeah I knew birch was better than mdf but like I said the Box will be roughly half and half wood and fiberglass Quote 2012 silverado ext cab ltz 24" kmc rims AudioQue 2200 Pioneer AppRadio Alpine mrx f35 4 channel Bose mids and highs Iraggi Alt + stock alt in a DC power dual alternator kit Yellowtop+stock under hood 0 gauge Knu wire Big 3 4 gauge stinger (4 chan wiring) 3 DC 10'' LVL3 with LVL4 parts

Skullz
Providing the glass is thick enough you won't notice much of a difference in sound between mdf and fiberglass where there is a sound difference in birch plywood from the others.
