So I noticed that in your signature Sheena it says you have a BRZ1200.1D on stock electrical. I'm assuming that means stock alternator as well as just stock battery? How do you get away with that? I feel like if you can do 1200 watts off stock electrical, then I should have no problem with the 235 Singer alternator along with an XP3000 in the back and an upgraded under-the-hood battery and let's say a DC 3.5k Build in progress
Sheena Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 i dont get away with it yet.. currently waiting for my knu 1/0 to get here for the big 3, got a stinger volt meter coming too that i'll hook up at the amp terminals. then i'll see if i get away with it fucking wires coming off the alt are SMALLER than 8 gauge.. looks more like 9 gauge (if there was a 9 gauge) or 10 gauge.. with an XS under the hood and XS in the back and 235 under the hood you should have really minimal voltage drop with only 3.5k. (imo, im just a newbie at batts and alts) Really been thinking about it, and if I can get a D series XS Power battery that'd be able to supply power for a max of 4k watts then I think I may do that instead of getting 1 under the hood and 1 in the back. Should end up being cheaper and doing the same job I think. And pardon me if this seems rather noobish as I'm learning as well, but don't you want bigger wire coming off the alt (preferably 0 gauge)? I still need to do the big 3 but I'm going to be doing that around the same time that I buy a H/O alt & battery. Then from there I'll finish saving up for the subs/amp Build in progress

Would you be able to give a rough estimate? Still need to get educated on what types of wiring I need for all connections (for example subs -> amp), all I really know at the moment is that you want 0 gauge coming from the alt as well as 0 gauge going from battery to amp? Is all of this pretty much explained in that Big-3 tutorial thread at the top of this forum? Build in progress
