This may seem like a pretty self-explanatory question, but is it as simple as mounting the subwoofer into the baffle before gluing/screwing the rest of the box together? Or is there a simpler/better way to do so? It's the only way I could think of and is how I think I might be doing my next box

its really that simple, just take a good amount of time to make sure your surround doesnt touch...

No...how would you get the sub out? Just put the box all the way together then mount the sub inverted

oh thats what i thought he meant. do not mount it in baffle then put together hahaha. then you have pointy ass screws poking through

The sub is still on the outside of the box...

yeah but thats mad ugg. if youre really careful, you shouldnt have any problem just mounting the sub on the outside.

I don't know if you can say there is a "right" way to do it, but there are lots of wrong ways to do it. Like others have said, make sure the surround isnt going to touch the baffle. And make sure the sub isn't so heavy that it may pull away from the baffle. So take that into consideration. And just like mounting normally get a good seal between the baffle and sub face.

Alright, that makes sense. I saw Mikey Pilato's Hummer this weekend at SBN that Singer built and it had the subs inverted through multiple baffles. Was just curious as to how I'd do that through only 2 or 3 baffles though. I just thought that there'd be a sealing issue when turning the sub around and mounting it on the face of the baffle because the Kickers I've got now have a sort of hard plastic that the screws go through and I could've sworn the face of the sub isn't "flat."

And no I won't be inverting the Kickers, but when I upgrade to an SSA Zcon I was thinking about doing it with that ;)
