gally Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 so here is a quick question i would like to ask.... if i do a system build with 4 350wRMS subwoofers, and they would be powered by a 1800wRMS amp is there something wrong with it?? i mean... i opened a topic in some other site and they keep complaining about that like hell.... SnowDrifter Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 It really depends on said subwoofers. If they are a good, reputable brand and you are feeding them clean power in a properly designed enclosure: you should be fine Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
stroupe79 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 like mentioned above..if they are getting good clean power you should be fine I have personally ran more than 3x RMS to subs with no problem what so ever out of that setup...not saying you can do that with any woofer though Quote http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
gally Posted March 28, 2012 Author Report Posted March 28, 2012 i would feed 4 re audio SR with a DD m1b......if that wouldnt go trough just 2 15 re audio SE... CleanSierra Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 i would feed 4 re audio SR with a DD m1b......if that wouldnt go trough just 2 15 re audio SE... I ripped the surrounds off of my RE SRx's on double their RMS rating. The coils were pretty and took the abuse, but the soft parts did not. I fed them clean 600 watts a piece and they lasted a couple years before the surrounds shredded. Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
gally Posted March 28, 2012 Author Report Posted March 28, 2012 so that leaves me with just 2 re audio SE 15˝ in a proper box.... Guest Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 1400w worth of woofer with an 1800w amp. should be fine in my eyes. if you want to get technical, voltage drop and impedance rise would make you lose a few hundred watts anyway (depending on the box, of course) Quote
