Lbox88
Photobucket is dicking up on me apparently, I guess when you hit 2500 images they close out that folder and when you try to put more in it they shove something out and make a new folder. So those last couple of images are supposed to be these: Now if I decide to go back to DC's but new Level 4's in 10's I could do this: Or could do the same in 12's with this: Just have to get shit moved still and sell a few things. But tonight after the wife and kid went back to bed I went out looking for a different new ground. The more I thought about it the more those two bolts under the cargo deck sounded like they would suck looking at size of the bolt, location, how I would run wires, etc. Then I found this spot: Measuring with the meter to ground: These are the bolts on the front side of the rear bench seat, as you can see there are two levels of humps in the cabin floor here because it's basically molded to fit around the frame. Should be able to pull the bolts, do a little sanding and apply a little grease to protect the metal and toss my new grounds in there. I'll pull my ground that runs to the front and just cut it to fit running under the seat after I get my batteries picked up and frame built. Lbox88
20" left of space front to back to fit the amp and the box. With the seats back in position, can just barely fit my thumb. UBL | Build Log
Lbox88
Pulled my (-) run from front to back out, wheeled off the the paint on the mounting bracket and ran the new grounds. Also tried to open the beer in this first pic with a wrench because no bottle opener and sprayed half of it all over the back . To top it off it tasted like ass, too old and been in my fridge forever. UBL | Build Log
Lbox88
Finalized my argument on either 10/12's while looking at the car with my dad. Just decided if I was doing this to save space and have a platform to set stuff on, might as well keep it low enough to do that comfortably. So 2 10's it is. Should be able to make this out of a little more than half a sheet of MDF. Now, to have the dipshits at bLowes cut them or just strap the shit out of a full sheet to my roof and take it easy driving home and cut it myself. And right now, trying to order a couple new fuse holders and fuses to go from the alt to rear batts when I replace the run from front batt to rear as well. Lbox88
Yes, both rear facing so I can set shit on top of the box. I have a plan to make one big beauty panel but will have to see how it pans out at the moment. Look for Hotdog's equinox build he did for his wife, 4 12's i think down firing so she could still use the area IIRC. UBL | Build Log
Lbox88
I was all motivated to work on the this last night, got tools out, got my driver side door trim pieces all off, had the hood open, then took the wire out. I bought a spool of SHCA 1/0 roughly about a year ago and it's been sitting all coiled up through last summer and winter on this broken spool. So to say the least, it was a little stiff in that it didn't want to give up its curl and twist for a few minutes. So I said fuck it, I had a friend call and decided to say hell with it for the night, did my best to straighten it out and get the twist out of it and hung it up like this to stretch it out until this evening. I got my new fuses and fuse holders in as well, and I think for the back what I'll plan to do it is mount the fuse holder onto the front of the battery frame so they're not just flopping/banging around. Lbox88
My knees hurt. Just spent the last 3 hours basically laying in the engine buy, kneeling on the concrete floor, or kind of on my side up under the dash to get the new wire run. Big surprise, it's a little bit tighter fit than the old stuff getting it through the firewall and around under the hood. Tons of room right here to get in there. Ended up taking all positives off and hitting them with the emery cloth to remove the oxidation. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand in the process may or may not have dropped a hot lead on the block and saw a couple sparks. Maybe. Put it all back together minus fuses, will work on that, getting everything tucked away, and fuses wired up in back tomorrow. Lbox88
Wiring is done for now. Trim is all back together, dash cover panel back on, seats back in their spots, rear being actually back further than it was before which is nice. Fuse holders mounted onto the battery frame. Time for fuses to go in and wires to be tied together to keep clean(ish) I don't know how or what I did, but I got the bench seat even further back than before, can't even fit the width of my pinky between the amp and battery.
