Put the HU LPF on 80. Since that sony headunit is the very low low end of theirs i doubt it's doing 2v in the rcas. You answered it for your self when you tested it in your car. I'm just getting a line driver then. IDK why that sony would have a 2v preout. Thats so minimal 2v is technically plenty. It just comes down to which model will actaully do 2v. So check your HU output voltage and compare it to your brothers and look for differences that would explain the low output.
