Guest Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 My girl is rushing me now! I cant catch a break. Does this look good is there anything you would do different. I am all ears so please let me know what you would do I changed port length to 16.25 and added .6 for displacement and the net is 5.02 and Hz is 37.67 you still dont even have enough port area. and the box is too big. thats big enough for an 18 for god sakes. do 4.5cuft at 36-37. 16 square inches of port per cubic foot. and it says right there the tuning is 36, not 37. and the box is 5.6cuft, not 5. i have no idea where you're getting these numbers from.
MrFree Posted April 5, 2012 Author Report Posted April 5, 2012 try these numbers in torres calc to see if thats closer to DD's specs has to sound better than what you already built sub up...port back box dims...16h..37w..24d port dims...14.5h..5w...19L .6 sub displacement 3 common port walls 37.11hz....4.97net volume...14.59port per cubic foot ports up subs back for 2 12's in this tahoe doesnt sound good. I would like for everything to fire back so it has no choice put to come forward. I think that is a good design though just with subs back too sub up port back is DIFFERENT than sub back port up. i dont know why you would ever do sub back port up in an suv. LOL that was a typo...Subs back port up is dumb really really dumb, my bad..I want to go subs and port back so the waves have no choice but to go up front."2" 12's just isnt moving enough air to fire them off of the roof(IMHO). Joe X Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 5 cubic feet 36-40Hz 80 square inches of port area. And the displacement of the DD2512 is 0,172 cubic feet not 0,3. The displacement listed may be of an older version.
Sheena Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 okay whats really pissing me off is that no one is listening to a word anyone else is saying. the displacement of a 2512 is .09 cu ft. since we're going by the DD website for box specs (2.5 cu ft per driver) we should go by the DD website for the 2512 specs (.09 cu ft) 09 Civic EX KDC-X395 (2) SKAR Audio VVX-12 Skar Audio SK-1500.1 4 cu ft @32 (new box and more port soon) Firing Forward not sealed off Stock 80 Amp Alt Big 3 In 1/0 Knu 2 Runs To The Back 1 Pos 1 Neg In 1/0 Knu DD-1'd 13.8v drop
Guest Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 you still need more port area. why are you making this so difficult dude? look at the friggin boxes on the lower right that say PORT AREA PER FOOT.
MrFree Posted April 5, 2012 Author Report Posted April 5, 2012 Ok one more time before I start glueing and rounding edges. I have decided from looking at DD charts that this box might be pretty nice. Please again you 're opinions matter thats why I am asking. What would you guys do or do you think this will sound sick... The DD site says 5.00^ft (3) 10" or (2) 12" or (1) 15" or 18" 80.0 sq" vent x 18" long edit:lol serious though R.I.P...99'Dodge Grand Caravan 03 Lancer Oz Big 3 HU-JVC KD-530 RCA's-rockerfosgate 41/2 inch Infinity mids Subs-(12's)2 Orion xtr124 Amp-Coustic600se battery-2 x stock, 1x Shuriken SK-BT20 Box-L-ported 3.562cubes@35Hz miscellaneous-stinger volt-meter, gain nob, (coming soon bass pro,eq,line drive) I dont have flex yet but damn I sound good,(coming soon....flex) Check out my HHR install Everything I install or build here:http://s1160.photobu...s/q485/MrBfree/ Also video's of my Car with the new box.http://www.youtube.c...lentGyge/videos
