Keith77
6 is an odd number? Quote Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born. My penis is bigger than your penis I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.
CJ18
Ok here is a good comparison for you from when I had my 7.5k in my truck. 1 350a alt and 5 XS D1400s charging at 16.8v and I had drop down to 15.1v full tilt. The D1400s are good for about 1500w power handling each. I doubled my battery bank to 10 D1400s and had no voltage drop.

dbslayerdrake
the way i look at the battery power debate is. at what point do I think I'm ok? At that point I add one more. In my case I thought I would need 6. So ended up wtih 8. I cant have odd numbers. I like that philosophy! and I too have a distaste for odd numbers. With 2 300a+ alts I would still use 2-3 D3100s. For me battery power trumps alternator power. The more reserve battery capacity that you can have the better off you are going to be when trying to keep your voltage higher for longer and the less stress you are going to put on your alternators, because they wont constantly be trying to keep up with the current draw of your amps because your batteries are basically dead. Alright cool. I think in the end im going to try and get the biggest single alt i can fit and strap on 3-4 D3100's. I love your build btw man, the CF vinyl looks SICK!
