what brand cables/wire

Recommended Posts

going to start my build in the next month or so. wondering what brand of subs wires and power cables to get. Is Absolute Power any good? on sonicelectronix they had a 50ft spool of 2awg ofc for $60. they also have a 20ft rool of superflex for $40. i was wondering if would be good or could i go to welding cable at $1.74 a foot since i shouldnt need more than 25ft. and as far as wires from amp to subs what should i be looking at? any help is greatly appreciated

i only use OFC wire i never use the CCA crap and ive seen absolute wire before...real thick insulation the 2g is actually going to be 4g wire..

so i would for sure look into something better..

try looking up american bass 0g wire or audiopipe wire both are OFC and actual gauge size..

and from sub amp to subs deending on the wattage 1000w rms sub amp to 2 woofers id run 12g wire.. im running 12g wire in my install and i havnt had a warm wire yet etc..and im well above 1k rms

2k rms and more id use 10g or 8g wire for subs

Knuknonceptz wire is excellent. CCA 1.95 a foot and OFC is 3.95 a foot i think. (for 0 gauge)

Can't justify spending $100 on wire? Wire is just as important as anything else in a system.

Do the big 3 in 1/0 welding...and maybe use 2 awg welding for power/ground (you could get 1/0 and trim it til it fits). I say welding cable because it is typically cheaper and is 100% ofc.

Good wire is well worth the money. Look up coppercableman on ebay. I use his wire and powerwerx.com
