ToddB
Hi I have a 2011 camaro and I installed a DC 270 amp alternator for my 2 amps. Problem is the computer controls the voltage that the alternator puts out. When I start the car and drive the first 10 min or so i get 14.3 volts then it drops to 12.3 to 12.5 for a while then it goes back up to 14.3 . It is so the car saves gas and shit like that. Anyone no of a way to keep the voltage up higher? I also have 3 XS power battery's in the trunk. Thanks
Loslam
Might be possible to get a PCM tune and set the voltage different and gains some hps at the same time, not 100% on that though Quote 1997 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab, 350 Vortec Things to come at some point... ToddB
That voids a 5 year 100000 mile warranty.
Guest
talk to mechman or dc (this first...since you got the alt from them) edit: probably every option you do will void the warranty. im not 100% sure on this, but you will more than likely need to add a module in your car to bypass the pcm Edited April 18, 2012 by Kranny

Lbox88
Turn your driving lights on, see how that works out This, if I turn on my headlights on my '09 Equinox, my charge voltage climbs back up to 13.9ish. Not the auto headlights either, but the actual headlight position on the selector switch. Quote UBL | Build Log

Lbox88
Try it on the parking lights and see, on mine it has to be the low beams as far as I've seen. Quote UBL | Build Log

teamace24
I was going to post the exact same thing i have an 07 gmc yukon and the charging voltage is also regulated i think because it fluctuates from 12 to 14. Is there a part that makes it a constant 14?
