Man the rodeo is really overdue for the same thing. Its hard to find time to do that stuff when building the system instead lol. You and Jade will still be around with her Explorer in the meantime tho yeah?

This is looking reeeeediculous! How do you like the Crescendo mids compared to the Tantrics? I have Tantrics and really like the sound, but am possibly looking for something different in my new build.

Haha thanks, im happy with it so far. I haven't gotten a chance to try them out yet...maybe this weekend actually, i'll be sure to post up a little comparison here when I do. Maybe its own thread depending how much I want to get into it, I have a bunch of Dayton RS180s here I could throw in the mix too...hmmm...

Some small updates...

Here is the best numbers ive seen from this new rebuild with the Sundowns so far.

Sealed up legal on the dash peaked at 51hz

Tested this at home in the garage so I didn't try to pull any opened up outlaw numbers when the lows start to shine but it did still do a 149.0 at 25hz legal.

Also, tried out the crescendo mids.

I hoped they would be a bit louder than the tantrics and I was curious just how they compared in general. Long story short, the crescendos are a little bit quieter, don't sound as natural, and have less impact and realism in the midbass BUT they do look better with the colors in my build! And they don't sound terrible by any means just not up to my standards, especially since I am working towards competing with this in SQ.

The problem is, after having these in, its reminded me how the yellow cones of the tantrics really don't look right with the rest of the build.....so.....I need to find some new mids that sound as nice or better than the tantrics, can get as loud or louder but also look DOPE! haha so we'll see, i'm open to suggestions! Maybe there is a way to die the yellow cones too? idk

Went to a comp this last Saturday and had a great time demoing all day. I'm pretty impressed by how my electrical is handling things too. I was demoing close to full song after full song and the lowest my voltage dropped to was 11.8

Sealed up i did a 153.8 that day still at 51hz so i lost a whole .8 since my testing but its been 2 weeks since i tested so there are a number of things that could have caused it. Drained batteries, broken/missing door pieces, and what i really think it is, is that the subs are just starting to break in a bit more and my peak has dropped lower. So, i'm going to do some testing again tomorrow before the show this weekend.

I love how this thing is playing the low lows already though, I can't wait until the rear port comes in.

I wonder if you could paint the cones in some sort of dye like they use for leather?

That's kind of what I'm imagining, some sort of dark die I could brush on and let dry that wouldn't affect the sound too much...

You could also try a light coat of spray paint. Krylon or something with a really fine mist. I can't imagine it would add that much weight

Had some delays getting the port in from Bill...UPS lost it....so that's cool i guess.

Good news is it sounds like it should all be taken care of though. Bill started building me another port as soon as we found out this one was missing, and is sending it tomorrow morning. Bill is a great guy to work with, if any of you need custom aeros dont hesitate to hit him up!

Anyways, if all goes to plan I'll have some big updates and new videos after the 3x WR show at Audiophiles May 17th...
