SA-12 Box size help

Recommended Posts

I have everything set up now. All I need is a box. I would prefer prefab just because it would be easier.

I want LOUD. I like SQ but would prefer it to be louder then a sealed box.

So, with this in mind, Should I have a side port, or front port. Also would probably be going for a box around 3.5 cubes and would fire the subs to the rear of the car. They are going in a trunk btw.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I should probably mention the subs are dual 2ohm and the amp is a hifonics brz2400.1 and will be wired to 2 ohm.

If you want a prefab, go down to best buy and pick the one that looks prettiest.

If you want a real box, it's worth the effort

Prefabs are tuned the way they want (usually high) and built poorly in many cases, a rectangular box is easy to build, you can have the parts cut for you in office depot for example, most of the times port/subs in the same face firing backwards or frontwards is used. you will be pushing 850W per sub at 2 ohm which should be fine for them.
