Snowdrifter's Jeep Wrangler - 2 12s, 3.5k *Term Lab*

Recommended Posts

The plan:

1 BC3500, 2 crossfire XS-spl 12s (no bitchin' about under-powering :) more on that at the end )

4 RAM_designs batteries

Factory mids/highs sound good enough to me and can be heard over the sub

Volt meter, reads from the inputs on the amp

Bass knob

Run of 1/0 to the back

Ground for the rear

Ended up doubling it up just because :P

Explanation for under powering: I was originally going with a pair of BL 12s, but found these for cheaper and they were less 'mainstream' than Fi. So I figured why not?

One run of 1/0 for 3500 watts and 4 batts? Might wanna rethink that...

I guess that does seem kind of odd lol

1 run to the batts - stock alternator. No reason for more

2 pos and 2 negative from the batteries to the amp

I'm not terribly worried about it. I used my friend's sub and my amp and it held 13v at the inputs full tilt at idle, 13.3 when driving. That was on stock electrical - no batteries, no big 3. I figure with this, it should be more than adequate :)

Either had that gain way down, you have a beast stock electrical or that amp is efficent as hell!

The gain definitely wasn't turned down haha. Was running max power :D

Anyhoo - update:

Hey, copper posts on a stock alternator. Not too shabby!

Old vs new charging wire

WP_001055.jpg

(in a Nigel Thornberry voice) A distant relative of the common zip tie, bailing wire can be extremely effective in tieing items out of the way

Got wires cut for the amp

WP_001054.jpg

Yeah, they look like shit on the outside. My flux kept on lighting on fire =/

But they are completely filled on the inside and the solder wicked down a good inch below in insulation. So it's only aesthetics :D
