Really......... Coooooool.

I need help.

I have a system that was in another vehicle, I would like to install this system into a 94 vw jetta, I dont know anything about this stuff I got the kit from my Dad.

I have a 7 gallon tank, no idea what kind the compressor is or the valves type, some struts for a dodge intrepid, a  10 switch box and some plumbing.

what do I need to do to get this kit in my car, the struts look like you can take them apart, are they interchange able??   Can I use the bags? or do I order complete new struts for the jetta?

Strut bags are Usually vehicle specific. I checked for a direct application for your Jetta and they don't offer a bolt in strut bag for it. You would have to get a universal strut bag and use your factory strut to make the mounts for it. I can supply you with the parts that you need, but it will require some fabrication.

I havent been able to get pics of the suspension, was gonna do it this weekend, but I messed up my wrist (broken or dislocated it)

Be VERY careful dealing with those guys on strut bags- I've heard a lot of horror stories about getting sets that don't go low, don't hold up, etc...  I don't have any personal experience, though, so I'll leave this as a warning to do your homework!  Good luck!!

yea it seems like a universal kit for several VW's so I Figured I should get as much info as I can.

I have been doing alot of searching, I havent found a bagged 94 jetta anywhere.

soon as I get more info from them I will post it.

I dont know squat about this so Im just tryin to do my homework.

well they never returned my emails lol.

ok so I am getting really close to being ready.

This is what I have right now. (its all used, tested the tank and compressor tank holds air fine and compressor seems to work ok, I dont know enough about em to say yea perfect.)

this set up came out of a 2000 dodge intrepid RT

I believe I am missing some items, so I need to know what else I need.

contents of pics.

1 compressor (unknown brand)

1 tank (looks like a 5 gal) ??

1 10 switch box.

8 valves ( parker b552adg47c 150 psi dunno if that helps)

a couple of relays

and some 1/2 air line, I need more.

so besides the universal bags, what else do I need?

and can you pm me a quote on the universal bags, I need to get them soon.

doesnt look to hard to do myself car is gutted, had a front tire off of the car today to get a good look and a pic, but my cam is dead I wi post some pics of the suspension after I get off work tomorrow.

Doesn't Steve kno quite a bit about air ridin? I mean the civic has had it before the theft and after (maybe check the rebuild thread on that for a general parts list). Maybe Hit up Mr. Meade directly if he's not too busy making Chickens House SLAM he could help ya on a shopping list? If I find anything on it I'll let ya kno too-All I can say is If any of the guys from the OLD Norcal customs wanna work on it- look into the stuff they've done already and ask the owner about thier reliability cuz I kno that shop went under a while back... and then there's a new/ or diff Norcal up on Auburn Blvd and I dont know if it's the same guys but I heard they have exp w/ air rides from a customer of mine. Purely hearsay tho.

fittings get brass ptc or compression fittings work fine if installed correctly. You can get them from any simi truck repair facility. Make sure there DOT approved and stay away from home depot. this is if you got your valves connected to the tank so just a ruff idea for you 4 1/2 x 1/4 reducers 4 1/2 street tee's 8 1/2 hex nipples 4 1/2 NPT x 1/2 tube 90's 10 1/2 straight male connectors 4 1/2 x 1/2 tube x 1/4 male NPT 4 1/4 female NPT x 1/4 tube

2 duel needle gauges would be good if you want to watch your bag pressure

you need a pressure switch to turn your compressor on and off when your tank needs filled. 110 on and 145 off should be good but theres 200 off and adjustable switch's that go even higher. the pressure switch goes in one of the ports on your air tank and is wired to one of those relays you have then your compressor is wired to the relay. I would also hook a toggle switch to it so you can shut your compressor off from the drivers seat.

I would change the filter in the compressor as well.

You should get a High pressure water trap as well.
