Stinger is true awg wire, it is true spec 1gauge by the industry standard. Wire like Knukonceptz, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, Audio Technix, Shok are considered to be "oversized" wires, so they are slightly larger in diameter aka more copper, which results in a higher amperage rating.
