that amp is only around 800 or 900 rms, why go throught the hassle of putting 1/0 gauge on it when it only requires 4ga ........... now if you have more than one than yeh use 0 gauge but run ito to a dist block and run 4ga from that to the amp(s).

2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s

1-DC 5K amp

(1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR)

3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative.

(2)-RFT165s components, ...... 4 separate 1 inch tweetersRF T600-2(fronts) Punch 450.4(rear)

Audiocontrol 3.1.

DC power 260amp alternator w/MLA Module

No, it is not an overkill. There is considerably less resistence by using 0 gauge wiring since you are giving the electricity that is flowing through the wiring more space. 4 gauge wire has more resistence because you are trying to pull the same amount of amperage but just in a smaller space. It is actually better for the amplifier to do it this way.

I am doing the same thing with my crunch Pzi 3000 . The amp has 4 gauge fittings but I am using reducers. However, I did have to shave down the reducers to get them to fit in.
