BFF Larry
Black wire is any ground available. The red and blue wires is soldered inline with the yellow 12 v constant wire closest to the headunit. Preferably at the radio wire harness. BFF Larry
You can also get these inline noise filters from Meijers, some walmarts, or other local stores and any auto part stores. Wicks
Disconnect HU from RCA's. Connect a portable music player (iPod) to the RCAs and try that. If you still have noise, its the RCA's or something else downstream. If the noise is gone its the HU. The inline power filter is a good idea. If it works, it would point out that the HU power supply isn't very good. skittlesRgood
I've had the same problem with my pioneer headunit. Every thing you tried, I have tried as well. but still failed to fix the noise. Until I used an inline power noise filter. I just matched up the fuse rating to the headunit and bought the one closest to the fusing. I used this one http://www.sonicelec...I.E.-NF-20.html But here is a cheaper one But does the same exact thing, but looks better. http://www.sonicelec...AX-ANR1000.html just so you know, those are two different types of filters. the axxess one will have a lower output voltage by about 1v, maybe more. then you dont want to match amperage on a component. you always want the component to be able to handle more than what you will use. so a HU with 10 amps of fusing should get at least a 15amp filter. lastly, these filters will only help if the power supply is dirty. if its anything with the audio equipment that is making the noise, the filter wont do shit.
