alan412 Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 speaking from my own experience, just recently ive bought from a very well respected member on another forum (with an exceptionally high post count) selling 2 subs "freshly reconed". i didnt hesitiate due to his status on the forum. however once i recieved the subs and started playing them i beg to differ that they were reconed properly. because within one day of mediocore playing, the cone of one sub seperated from the spider. now i know all of you guys will respond saying the subs must have been seeing some sort or distortion. the case is my amp is seeing 100% clean unclipped power via dd-1 and scoped to double check. my power situation consists of a 320 amp alt. i clamped the output of the alt at full tilt and at max output with the load i was putting on it, it only saw 85 amps at most. so to make a long story short dont always trust a seller due to there high post count. when doing a recone, you dont do anything to the tripple joint. so if thats where it failed, the previous user had nothing to do with it. well to be completely honest with you, the pictures were more than deceiving. when i received the subs, i had never seen that much CA gule period! on every joint of the subwoofer. right where the cone meets the spider it looked like a preschool project, glue everywhere. believe me i was upset! however none the less i gave the seller the benefit of the doubt. why not try the subs out. so i did, and as you guys already know i got took! I just sold my kicker kx 1200.1s and when they guy showed up I hooked both of them up, and played them for a second. He saw that they worked fine amd he wanted me to hook up his but I politly declined. He saw they worked fine and after cash was in hand I didnt want to be responsible for what happens. 2005 ford explorer xlt limited 4x4 2 xs power d3400s 2 runs of shca mid/ highs- infinity 6x8 3 ways 2 18 ssa icons 2 aq 1200.1 @ 2 ohms 10 cubes tuned to 36 hrz

Yep, that's the best way to sell something. The person physically sees that it is functional and not damaged, and you know that he got the product that he saw. Sucks that people get screwed over through online transactions..

What orion is saying is that people with lower post counts techincally dont have a great knowledge of the audio world (more times than not) and poeple with higher counts have a greater knowledge. There for the lower post people since they have a small knowledge will more likely mess things up because of their inexperience. Has nothing to do with experience. I t has to do with how well known a member is before selling to them. If you've only been around a month and only post troll shit, its hard to tell whether you're shady or not. Then there's guys like you, Rich65, that have no clue and get an attitude when its pointed out. Actually I always have an attitude when dealing with dbags, no offense. Lol we all tend to have an attitude when dealing with douchebags as well, so stop being one. I don't get why you think it's okay to go around being an asshole, Internet or not..
