meade916
A lot of people asked me if i was going to put Dynamat in the Lex. The answer is NO. I use Second Skin. It made a HUGE difference with just a few strips. The roof was flapping so bad it canceled out some notes and was downright aweful. I was able to get my arm about 12" into the headliner and sliced my arms doing it. It was worth it though. IMMEDIATE difference. I am planning on doing the entire thing eventually but this worked so good, i am not even in a hurry Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! ZombieswithMustaches
I watched the video and felt so inclined to go and sound deaden my roof. Had a box of Dynamat Xtreme laying around and decided to double layer the roof of my Colorado. It is SOLID now! So, thanks for making me realize I needed to get off my ass and stop that flex. So...when are those door speakers coming in? dog24fret
Steve I was wondering on that second skin. I seen that you put it on the roof will it with stand all temp extreams. I have asphalt and fat mat that just won't take the heat here. Where my wife works in the summer it gets 120-154 degrees in the car in the summer. The car is parked in the lot with no shade from sun up to 4pm. Once again awesome build sir. Quote Cowboy Escort GrAnny ThUmper The Burp

meade916
Still waiting on my Rockford Fosgate T5's to get here ( a couple more pair). In the meantime, i started my kick panels. To answer your question before you even ask, yes, i will make them kick-proof. They are indeed in the danger zone LOL, but i have plans for that. Anyhow, they are RF P3 Shallow 8's and will probably be crossed over at 90 and down. Possibly bandpassed from 40 to 90. On advice from Terry Soohoo, a legendary SQ expert i know (and owner of Paradyme, Sacramento), i am going to treat them more as subs and less as mid-bass. After the doors are done i get to have a serious tweak/tune session with him which will be phenominal! Anyhow, here is the progress so far. 1 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong! meade916
I usually slop a layer of kitty hair over the top just so the weak layer of fiberglass below doesn't warp when i take it out. I grind it down and then put another layer or 2 of 19oz glass over it once it is out of the car Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel!
