He's stating that you can send double the rms power to the subs as long as the box is built to support it. Generally the more power you send to a sub the smaller the box should be. skittlesRgood Posted May 20, 2012 Report Share Posted May 20, 2012 and if thats the case why do some quote" of you send full power to them when you first get them you'll blow them" is this true or?? false. to me a blown sub means a coil burnt up and there is nothing that low volume will do to break in the copper winding of a coil. the only part i would ever worry about is the spiders being too stiff and cracking. if you are really worrid about it, go ahead and keep the volume lower for a week. but for the most part, break in just mean they get better once they break in. not that they will be damaged if you dont do something special.
