KiKaZz74
ok so i got my friend from school wanting subs now new or used. ive been looking at the lower end skars and sundowns. either 2-3 10s or 2 12s. any other brands u guys would recommend? his budget is no more than $165 per sub. once that is decided i will help decide on an amp and box design. i dont know what car it will go in since he has to buy one but he is getting the gear lined up. also HU's all it needs is to have a aux input. nothing fancy like $100 at most on that. total budget for build is $600-750 any input is greatly appreciated Quote My SPL to SQ Build Log Vehicle:1997 Dodge Dakota Ext Cab 4x4 2009 Dodge Journey SXT5.2L V8 Magnum 3.5L V6 Stock AltEquipment: Headunit- Alpine CDE-147BT Mids/Highs Amp- JL Audio G6600 Class AB 6 Channel Sub Amp- Hifonics BRZ1700.1D @ 2 Ohms Taramps DSP3000.1D Sub- Hertz Hi Energy 12" HX300D SounDrive SDA3 12 Tweeters- Rockford Fosgate Power Series Silk Domes Hertz Hi-Energy Mids- Dayton Audio Reference 4" Full Range Drivers Midbass- Silver Flute 6.5" Hertz Hi-Energy 6.5" Processor- MiniDSP 2x4 RCA- 6 channels of SounDrive HF series Wire- EB Flex 2/0 -Member of Team SounDrive

john253a
tell your mate to keep his coin and get it all latter, hell end up with out dated, no warranty items, and more then likely not what is suited to vehicle

But I'm just getting ideas right now brand and series wise. Amps I'm mainly thinking hifonics, or something cheaper like that. CleanSierra
I would never buy equipment before I knew what vehicle it was going into. As far as the HU, get a Kenwood eXcelon X395. It it cheap, and has 4V preouts(3 sets). That is for sure the beginning of a good setup. I'd spend MOST of my time analyzing airspace in a vehicle(but that's not an option for your buddy). Box design will be the most important component to this build. No car=no design yet. Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. john253a
there is also a good pioneer H/U DEH-P7400HD it retails at 150 from sonic, thats what i recommend to most as a starting point but if he is willing to wait till they release new model hell get an even better mdl everything starts at the H/U so get something that will sound good and do everything well and wont need to be upgraded
