Only thing I don't like about the stain idea, is I built the baffles between the top and bottom pieces. I'd need to find some thin birch and cut a beauty baffle, or even find some sort of laminate.

Or you could do vinyl wrapped beauty panels with 'plugs' that hold them in place , like how some speaker grilles are held on.

Just an idea.

When I cut big sheets of plywood or mdf with a circular saw I clamp the straight edge right to the sheet , and then just use it like a rip fence for the circular saw. Seems to work better than just drawing a line and going slow. At least has for me. Looking good!!

I think I may just leave it raw. There is going to be so little wood seen on the front of this thing, its all subs and port. I'll decide when I reach that point.

Thats what I do when I cut long pieces. I have a 48" x 1" high straight edge. Anything under 20" or so though, and I free hand. I can go pretty fast and still stay true, just need a great blade.

Got one side of the bracing done. The other side will be done tomorrow, gotta pick up a couple more nuts.

T-nuts on the outside.

Nut and bolt on the inside.

Need to brace the back wall to the port somehow. Got a couple ideas, but I don't want to block off the port too much, and depends what I can find at Lowe's.

Don't they have those T couplers for the all thread?

I think, but I want a brace on each port wall, because its such a long piece. A 'T' will still flex anyway.

Im thinking about using a sort of L-bracket on each side, but I wouldn't want them any more than 1/2" wide.

nice progress ,, it looks like were going to have a similar setup , sometime this summer we have got to TL both .im curious at which will be louder on music. !
