need help horrible distortion!

So im working on gettin my skyline gtr install going and i got the mids/highs amp all hooked up i ran 0 gauge down the left side of the car and the rcas are running down the center under the carpet. i have the 40$ rcas by rockford and a rockford t400-4 with T2 5.25s

anyways i started it up to see how they sound and its absolutely TERRIBLE.... stock door speakers from 1990 dont sound this bad. its insanely distorted at even low volume i tried a diff set of rcas and no difference... what could be the problem here?? im going to try some different speakers but i dont think its going to help

well right now i just hooked up the 5.25s and no matter how i set the high pass it still sounds terrible not to mention the engine noise i hear coming out... dont know where it coming from since i was carefull to make sure rcas were nowhere near any power cords

Engine noise? Sounds like a ground issue.

i used a hand grinder and grounded 0 guage to the top of the rear strut

i have not done the big 3 yet but i have honestly never heard anything sound this bad but who knows the car is 22 years old the stock grounds might be corroded as fuck

Did you use the stock wire in the car?

Check and make sure all wires are not cut, pinched or grounding out on the sheet metal as that can have a huge impact.

Man, thats a drag, ...highly doubt adjusting the x-over will help. It sounds like the signal is shit right from the get go to me????.

no i ran 16awg rockford wires and its only to the rear dash from the trunk. waiting on power 4x6s to come in for the doors.

i dont see why the signal would be shit its a new alpine headunit
