TarponPride09
I have an MA Audio M500XE, it says that it puts out 125 watts X 4 ch @ 4 ohms. I got this, thinking i was going to get 2 sets of Polk momo mmc 6500s (125 wrms), but now i want to get some Rockford Fosgate T162S. The RF's can only handle 100 watts each. So my question is, if i set my gains 1/5 lower than what is recommended for 125 watts, will it put out the needed 100 watts instead. dr.db
You can also raise the x-over point to play a little less low freq's....but yeah just lower your gain a little and ya should be fine!!

Boon
bump, anyone?? Don't worry about it. 125w isn't going to make your speakers catch fire any time soon. In fact it's called 'headroom' and will make your gear sound heaps better at higher volume. My fronts are rated at 50wrms and I run 150w into them regularly and they just get louder As long as the power they're getting is clean (not clipped!!!!) then speakers will generally handle tons more than their RMS ratings. 10.x volts fo' life!
