AMERICAN BASSHEAD
I have one running @ .5 ohm's right now in my dayly driver and after awhile my voice coils get smelly (2 15" Z v.2) so i am thinking of wiring them to 2 ohm's for dayly listening. What is this amp going to put out @2 and will everything be cool @ 2 ohm's. THANX ahead of time

Real96SS
Depending on your setup and electrical the numbers will vary. I'm not sure what the Z's are rated at but I wouldn't think that on clean power they would get stinky off 1 3500.How did you set your gains and what are your box specs cause that may be your problem. 1 Quote Vehicle 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche(Co-Co) DNX9980HD 6 Team Fi 15's(King Edition) 3 DC 9k's 8 Nendo PWX 8's 4 Custom Steg 4" Super Tweeters 1 DC Audio 175.4 1 DC Audio 90.4 Rockford 360.3 3 DC Power 370xp Alts(Externally regulated) 21 D1600's 2 D4800's All SMD RCA's AudioTechnix Deadner Viper Alarm My YouTube- http://www.youtube.c...NG?feature=mhee Link to buildlog- http://www.stevemead...4-15s-2-dc-9ks/ Link to UBL- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/165059-ublkings-avalanchecoco-new-build-starting8-king-edition-15-team-fis-in-a-wallyes-a-wall/

Real96SS
Subs are underrated as with almost all competition stuff. So even if he was at .5 on clean power and a good electrical they shouldn't be getting stinky. I'm going to say its either his box, electrical or its not setup properly. 1 Quote Vehicle 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche(Co-Co) DNX9980HD 6 Team Fi 15's(King Edition) 3 DC 9k's 8 Nendo PWX 8's 4 Custom Steg 4" Super Tweeters 1 DC Audio 175.4 1 DC Audio 90.4 Rockford 360.3 3 DC Power 370xp Alts(Externally regulated) 21 D1600's 2 D4800's All SMD RCA's AudioTechnix Deadner Viper Alarm My YouTube- http://www.youtube.c...NG?feature=mhee Link to buildlog- http://www.stevemead...4-15s-2-dc-9ks/ Link to UBL- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/165059-ublkings-avalanchecoco-new-build-starting8-king-edition-15-team-fis-in-a-wallyes-a-wall/
jagblazer01
the subs shouldnt be getting smelly even running that amp at .5. Question is where are your gains, how far into clipping are you pushing the amp and how much power are they actually getting. You are probably raising up to at least 2 ohms would be my guess what size box do you have these subs in? AMERICAN BASSHEAD
box is 7.5cubft tuned to 38hz, i have two runs of KNU 2/0 OFC running back to two SK-BT120 batterys. but i do have stock alt untill next week could that be the problem? the lowest i have ever seen my voltage is 11.9 and thats at full volume. the gain is set with a DD-1 no bass boost everything is good on the amp.
Guest
when the amp is tuned with the dd1, voltage is probably sitting at 14's. with the subs hooked up, voltage is dropping. thus clipping is induced earlier. which would explain the coil smell.
