Nivram
hello, I have 4 15in sundown sa 15's 2 rockford t1500bdcp's Currently in my first pos wall build. Right now i have 135in of port and i was told i need like triple that. I dont really care about numbers. i just want to be loud and loww!!!! My port is in the center of the car and i was told that it would be alot louder with the port behind the driver seat. My wall sounds good to me but it just wont get low. I think the main issue is that i dont have nearly enough port. What main points are required to play nasty low? I will be doing 4 layers of 3/4mdf for the front baffle and the rest of the wall will be done in a single layer just reinforced with mad 2x4's or 2x6's My current wall also has a sharp angle and i was told rectangle boxes/ wall would also help me get louder. I need help designing and deciding on wat would give me the loudest possible lows and a daily music wall. i dont really care about a 52hz burp that scores 190db! Id be happy with a 150 @ 35hz Thanks BTW i have a guy that wants to trade subs with me So should my next build be for the 15's so more cone!! Or should i trade the guy with 2 18" dc xl M1's and build a set up that would need more powaaahh! Here is my first attemt at a wall build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/135404-buick-century-wall-i-just-got-in-from-putting-in-work-5min-ago/ Edited June 13, 2012 by Nivram Quote Walled 2002 buick century A.K.A "Betty sue" polk 5 1/2 front doors 4 3in pillar speakers DD 3518's AQ 3500 v2 90ft of 0/1 ga tuned to 40hz :build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/162721-buick-built-in-trunk-fi-sp4-hifonics-2400/
OrionStang
What has a sharp angle? The baffle? Do you have a build log? Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Nivram
i posted the build Its like the back of the box has an angle to it rather than a 90 degree box. at the time i thought it would be a great idea ... i thought the more airspace the better for lows. t-money
the port on the driver side is better for the meter most of the time but if you dont car about numbers then do it in the middle. also what is your wall tuned to now? Nivram
my wall is tuned to 38hz. I would like to tune down to 30hz and make the port much bigger. Nivram
Just got back from the sub shop. they told me that placing the port on the drivers side will get higher numbers on the meter but wont help me with my lows. So now im leaning toward keeping the center vertical port just making it alot wider.
