Akslowroller
So I am building my box this weekend and still haven't really designed it. I am a just build it as I go kinda guy. But my real Problem is I don't think I have the depth I need to mount the subs facing forward or backward. So I am thinking about facing them towards eachother?? Any input would be appreciated. Sanitarium
Get a better design.
LZTYBRN
What subs do you have where the depth is greater than the diameter?
CleanSierra
Don't build without a design, unless you're such a badass that's done 100+ boxes where it can be done in your sleep. Please design a box and get great results rather than shit results from no vision. Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. CleanSierra
P.S. a 4th order can't just be thrown together and sound good.... Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Akslowroller
P.S. a 4th order can't just be thrown together and sound good.... To build a 4th order don't I take the sealed specs for my sub for the sealed area then make my ported side twice to three times as large and then tune my port to like 40-45hz? In it's basic, basic, basic form, yes. It's much more than that to get it right. You can tune and tweek a 4th order for months and never get it right. Few people can throw one together and get perfect results without planning. Have you built a 4th order before? Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. Real96SS
I just designed my first 4th order and it took me all of a week because I didn't know everything I should have in the beginning. I tried to get help on here building but nobody answered so that left me to do it myself. The only thing I wasn't sure on is the port tuning. Some say tune it between 45-55 or even higher and then some say tune it lower. You can read this and it may help you out a little http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/126478-basics-of-a-4th-order-bandpass-enclosure/ Good Luck Quote Vehicle 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche(Co-Co) DNX9980HD 6 Team Fi 15's(King Edition) 3 DC 9k's 8 Nendo PWX 8's 4 Custom Steg 4" Super Tweeters 1 DC Audio 175.4 1 DC Audio 90.4 Rockford 360.3 3 DC Power 370xp Alts(Externally regulated) 21 D1600's 2 D4800's All SMD RCA's AudioTechnix Deadner Viper Alarm My YouTube- http://www.youtube.c...NG?feature=mhee Link to buildlog- http://www.stevemead...4-15s-2-dc-9ks/ Link to UBL- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/165059-ublkings-avalanchecoco-new-build-starting8-king-edition-15-team-fis-in-a-wallyes-a-wall/

And I am going to figure things out before I build that's the reason for the discussion however I am willing to build and re-build to achieve my goal. If after all the posts I read and other peoples build Logs I have it figured out then I will be very happy. But the way I look at it you have to start somewhere. And getting a box built and tuned and testing it will be the only way to start figuring out exactly what I need. But I don't think I've seen a 4th order with the subs firing towards eachother?? Scroll up in THIS thread and click Sani's build. He's got a 4th order tuned to like 5 Hz(it's stupid low) and his subs are oriented in an opposed fashion.
