mttornquist
Hey guys, I decided to finally get my log started. Its gonna be coming together real slow, working off a tight budget. A little background information: I am 17 years old going into my senior year of high school. I've got a 2007 corolla that we bought new; my dad drove it for a couple of years, then my brother, now its mine! My brother just bought his own car which for fitted his rights to this one so it wont be going back to him! Here she is: Anyways i just finished up putting a set of Rockford T1652-S components into the front doors. Before: 1/2 inch mdf mounts made up for the midranges: Sexy little tweets mounted up: The whole door: Nobody will ever know anything is different: The trim even fit over the tweets without any extra modification: I didn't take pictures of the other side. You can use your imagination, its exactly the same. I can already hear a huge difference in sound, even though they aren't amped yet. The sound just sounds more full I guess. lol More to come soon Thanks for reading my thread! mttornquist
Been on vacation so that's why there hasn't been updates. Anyways got some work done. Totally unrelated to the build, I picked up some new wiper blades. They are off-brand Bosch icons. Held them both in my had and they seemed to be just as good of quality. So I made a little beauty panel that the crossovers are mounted on. Speaker wire and the remote wire. Other side's speaker wire and rcas. 2 L brackets with self taping screws to hold it on the bottom. I used a flat bracket at the top to mount it, then I bent it into kindof a Z shape. used self taping screws on the top into metal then on the bottom used a couple of bolts. Hard to photograph but I think you can get the idea. Back from the inside with the seats folded down. Closeup of the x-over. Full view Just another angle. More to come soon guys! Got something in the mail, should be here around the end of the week. Then there will be a hug update coming Thanks for checking in on my thread! mttornquist
Got some work done after I posted last night getting my wiring kit installed. I got a custom one from Snafu, and let me tell you the quality is amazing!! Battery connection: You can see where I hid the fuse holder down there: There is no fuse in it because my amp isn't here yet (hurry up usps). Where the wire is run: I was about 6 inches short of my wire loom, but it's not really close to anything so it doesn't matter. The full engine bay: Got it to squeeze through the factory grommet. I actually took this picture without even being able to see the camera because I didn't want to climb under the dash again. haha I was pumped when I looked at the camera afterwards and it was a perfect picture! Thanks for checking in! More to come soon. My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...lmost-complete/

Some pictures of the guts: And this is my favorite picture! I'm excited to get her in! Thanks for reading my thread! conceptM
The only reason I changed my LRX Audison amp was to get another Audison amp... love the sound of them. I'm not switching my VRX though, it's as crazy as I want to go amp wise My LRX amp tended to get hot, but never went into protection.
